Betel (Sirih) Who does not known?



Betel is native to Indonesia, which grow vines or leaning on other trees [1]. As the culture of leaves and fruits commonly eaten by chewing with gambier, areca nut and lime. However, betel chewing has been associated with oral cancer and the formation of squamous cell carcinoma that are malignant.
Betel  used as a medicinal plant (fitofarmaka); is important in life and various Malay traditional ceremonies.



The characteristics of stem, leaf and flower / fruit

These vines can reach a height of 15 m. Betel stem greenish brown, round, segmented and is the root of the discharge.
